In an attempt to figure out what everyone is talking about (because I wasn’t really sure either), we decided to write the Pros and Cons of 5G.

5G stands for fifth-generation digital cellular networks. In this network, providers divide their service regions into small geographical areas called cells. It’s likely to be widely used by private corporate networks, the Internet of Things (IoT), and essential communications.
As of April 2019, the Global Mobile Suppliers Association has recognized 224 operators in 88 countries actively investing in this technology. South Korea became the first country to implement 5G on a broad scale in April 2019.
The 5G will play a far more significant role than earlier generations. It will connect people, objects, machines, and devices in addition to interconnecting networks. It will create new user experiences and connect new industries by delivering new levels of performance and efficiency.
Multiple gigabits per second, ultra-low latency, vast capacity, and a more consistent user experience will all be available with 5G. According to IMT-2020 specifications, it will deliver 20 Gbps peak data rates.

5G technology is one of the hottest topics in wireless. It’s also among the most divisive. Proponents say that 5G will be faster, better and revolutionary. Critics have said that there will be health hazards and privacy intrusions. We’re going to break down some of these concerns, along with the realities about 5G.
1. An Increased Bandwidth Will Mean Less Coverage.
By deploying more cellular towers, 5G providers may cover large areas with service. But coverage will be less widespread than 2G, 3G, and 4G networks, which require less bandwidth per user.
As losses increase at higher frequencies, it is hard to achieve any coverage beyond 2 meters (inside) and 300 meters (outside) (for example, millimeter-wave).

5. Minimum Upload Speed
The 5G network allows download speeds of up to 12.9 Gbps and upload speeds of less than 100 Mbps. Though it is much faster than 4G, the upload speed is not quite as fast as the download speed.
By the way, I don’t mean to be picky, but the ping speed is a little slow. It seems to run at about 15 milliseconds when 1 millisecond or less is what we expected.
6. Potential Health Hazards
The rise of 5G cell towers has been associated with harmful health impacts from cell tower radiation. With this in mind, we should address the cons of 5G technology immediately.
As bandwidth consumption increases, more cell towers will be required for 5G networks. The closer the person gets to the cell tower, the worse their situation will be. While studies have found that electromagnetic frequencies can induce chronic diseases, the degree of harm is yet unknown.
